Good for Your Health: Create A Morning Routine!

I have found that waking early truly leaves more time in the day to be productive. Having a set routine that you follow daily has so many benefits including giving you more energy, strength, and mindfulness. I am in the process of creating the strongest morning routine for myself, but it has been quite a journey to do so. A lot of trial and error can be involved to find out what truly works for you. If one thing isn’t right, don’t give up, just try something different. That is one of the greatest things about mankind, is that we are all different and there is no one set thing that will work for everyone. This is what my morning routine is turning out to be:
Upon waking around 6 AM, I do a journal entry for about 15 minutes about goals for the day, or just whatever is on my mind. Clearing my head is a fantastic way to start the day, relieving any residual stress, tensions, or frustrations from the previous day (or lingering feelings from subconscious thought). Journaling allows me to focus on my calm center. I like to write down 3-5 things that I am grateful for daily and what I would like to accomplish throughout the day. This helps to visualize the course of action that I need to take in order to get everything done.
Next comes reading. Reading is vital to mental health. Just 30-45 minutes every day can help immensely with bettering oneself and working towards goals. Take what you want to work toward and focus on books correlating to that subject. Consider yourself successful if you learned something. Don’t focus on speed; focus on learning.
Third is exercise. Exercise is vital to both physical and mental health and doing a little bit daily is a fantastic way to boost energy. Focusing on cardio will help boost your metabolism and revitalize you.
Next comes reconnecting with nature and yourself. Taking a walk in the morning or practicing meditation are both endlessly beneficial to your well-being. As I run my own company, work for me starts at 8. This next step is so vital to the success of my company. For one hour, I focus on a single company-related task (not pertaining to my clients, unless an emergency). I try to attempt this with a no technology and distraction-free zone. I have 2 wonderful kids, so quite often distraction-free is impossible. I am classified as an OBM and EAA, so technology free is quite impossible sometimes as well, but I try. That’s all you can do is try, right?

The Importance of Continual Growth

This topic ties in to my previous blog post. I believe that it is extremely important to continually grow.

Reflection upon your weaknesses and where you would like to improve is essential to growth. It is vital to evaluate this area on a regular basis to stay on track. I believe that your weaknesses make you stronger as you overcome them. You have to consistently move through those weak points by constant learning, asking questions, gaining knowledge, and building strengths.

Acknowledging and celebrating your strengths is important to your self-esteem and confidence. Being constantly down on yourself or not acknowledging can be detrimental to your growth. I believe that your strengths and accomplishments are something to be celebrated. Falling short of your goals can happen, but if you recognize the accomplishments that got you closer, you will be better off.

Be honest with yourself and realize that there is always room for improvement. Nobody is perfect or knows everything. Everyone you meet knows something you don’t. Take the time for yourself regularly to figure out where you would like to improve and you will make great strides towards accomplishing what you set out to do. Even a small step can take you further than you ever imagined. Why would you hold back?

Be critical of yourself, but don’t be too critical! Too much criticism is no bueno for your confidence. The key to all of this is to find a balance between self-assessment and self-detriment. Another useful tool, gathering differing opinions from trusted friends or family who you know will be honest with you. Dishonesty doesn’t help anybody. Ask them not to sugarcoat their response, as the more blunt the answer, the stronger it will stick with you.

Don’t Hide!

I am new to this blogging game, so while I may not seem experienced at writing, I am experienced in my craft and take pleasure in being able to help people. I hope that you join me on this journey.

Ok, so here it goes…

I want to discuss how to maintain the real you as you attack this entrepreneurial world. How do you stand out from the crowd and yet blend in while keeping your uniqueness?

First things first, be grateful for who you are and what you do. Having a passion and fire for what you do is a key to attracting clients while maintaining yourself. If you don’t change yourself for what you do (your job if that’s what you prefer to call it), you will find true happiness within yourself. Of course, you still have to find that balance between your “work” life and your family life, but remaining you is the best first step.

You need to be kind to yourself. Too much harsh criticism is detrimental. It’s ok to be hard on yourself, but use it sparingly. Your self-confidence and esteem suffer as a result, which makes it harder to be successful. You have to believe that you can do it, and do it without fail. Failure is just not an option!

Thirdly, let go of all that perfectionism. Nobody can be perfect, but it seems that a lot of us try. Full of worry, full of doubt, we walk around second guessing everything. This is no way to live. Go with your instinct. It is your body telling you something. You are supposed to make mistakes and learn from them. It’s time to let go.

Let go of any judgment that you have for yourself. Stop comparing yourself to anybody else. Everybody is on their own journey. You never know, you could be comparing yourself to someone who has years more experience than you. This is not fair to yourself. Time to be fair.

Let’s stay positive. Thinking in a positive mindset will keep your spirits up and help you to feel awesome about yourself. This task is not easy. In fact, it’s quite hard, but you can do it.

Everything is going to take some time to accomplish, so try to have some patience. I know that you want to get things moving faster than they may be, but patience is truly a virtue. It allows you to think everything through and make sure every step is taken at the proper time.

Let me know how you do. I would love to be your support throughout your journey.
